Jardiland receives the Ulysses prize for the best business turnaround of the year from the French turnaround professional body, the L’association pour le Retournement des Entreprises (ARE)

The French turnaround professional body, the “Association pour le Retournement des Entreprises” (ARE) presented its annual prize (the Ulysses Award) this evening for the best business turnaround to Jardiland. Three other companies were selected for the quality of their reversal: Hitim, Shark and Symacom.

In front of 450 professionals gathered in Paris for the award ceremony, Jean-Dominique Daudier de Cassini, the President of ARE, awarded the 2016 Ulysses Award to Jardiland’s president, Thierry Sonalier, who was accompanied by Yves Alexandre, one of the Founding Partners of Jardiland’s shareholder L-GAM. The association specifically recognized the quality of the work undertaken to turnaround the group after it had experienced difficulties for several years. The award recognizes the strategy which has been set up, its implementation as well as the operational, social and financial management of the company.

This year, for the first time, ARE presented an “Audience Award” which was presented in association with, and voted for by the readers of the magazine Challenges. The audience award was presented to Arnaud Marion, chairman of the Doux Group. The Breton company topped a vote which mobilized hundreds of readers enjoying reports produced by tempora.prod. The award was presented by Pierre-Henri de Menthon, managing editor of Challenges, and Celine Domenget-Morin, representing the Ulysses Committee of ARE.

Jean-Dominique Cassini Daudier, President of the ARE noted: “Like Ulysses, companies celebrated by our Awards have made a long journey strewn with obstacles which they have overcome. ARE rewards the work done, the courage of entrepreneurs facing and overcoming difficulties, their ability to never give up and ultimately to save their businesses and jobs, as well as preserve our economic fabric. Jardiland and the Doux Group represent different situations, but both demonstrate, just as Shark, Hitim and Symacom that businesses can be fruitfully turned around by specialists.”
